You can take the girl out of Ireland (Ylva January Blog Hop)

Never-Tied-Nora-300x200Welcome to my spot on  Ylva Publishing’s January blog hop—a circuit of some of the many fantastic authors currently writing for Ylva.  Thank you to JD Glass for handing on to me.

For six years, around the time of the new millennium, I was lucky enough to live in Ireland. I lived in an old coach house, in a tough and traditional small town not so far from the border with Northern Ireland.  It was a fabulous few years, and I enjoyed the everyday spontaneous wit I heard around me, warm conversations with strangers, the joy of traditional music lifting the rafters in a pub late at night, and particularly the close-knit community of a small town. 2015 in review

2015 was a good year in many ways for me.  It brought much pleasure and achievement, much laughter and good times.

I continue to live in south east Queensland, one of the most beautiful parts of Australia.  I live in a rural community, in a house perched on the side of a hill with views forever (that’s the view above on a misty morning).  The joy and inspiration this setting brings cannot be underestimated.  I love the sub-tropical climate, the ability to grow my own vegetables and source much of what we eat from local small producers.  So much better than the mass production supermarkets, with their dubious ethics and lack of accountability. Talking of Lisabet, have you seen her book list?  She has a whole bookstore of her work, neatly sorted by category and genre. Really, check it it out. I’m now impressed by her organizational skills as well as by her writing.  I wonder if I can persuade her to come and sort out my kitchen cupboards? Continue reading “Check out my guest post”

Release Day: Never-Tied Nora

Never-Tied NoraI’m still not entirely sure what possessed me to write an lesbian erotic romance about Irish girls in London, while I’m living in Australia,  but I’m very glad I did.  Yes, my romantic novella Never-Tied Nora, Book 1 in the Girl Meets Girl series, is released today by Ylva Publishing.  Ylva are of course based in Germany, so that rounds out the multiculturalism for this evening. Coming soon from Ylva Publishing: Never-Tied Nora

HeartI’ve been writing erotic short stories since 1999. 16 years? Honestly? It seems like yesterday that I sent my first short story off to the very wonderful Clean Sheets with much trepidation. There’s been nearly 100 of my short stories in print since then, but they’ve all been short. 5000 words give or take. Until now.

I’m delighted that my first longer work will be out at the end of this year from Ylva Publishing. If you read lesbian fiction in any shape or form, you are bound to know them. I certainly knew of them long before I submitted my novella, and I couldn’t have been more pleased when they accepted it. Continue reading “Coming soon from Ylva Publishing: Never-Tied Nora”
